Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, wants the government to, as a matter of urgency, seize Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah’s $39 million locked up in a Dubai firm, Royal Horizon when it’s retrieved.
According to him, it is in the interest of the government to protect the numerous Ghanaians who have deposited their monies in the gold firm.
To this end, government would have to take the necessary action to ensure that it retrieves whatever money including the $39 million locked up in a Dubai firm in the interest of paying the customers.

“I get the impression that the government doesn’t want to create an impression that it has a responsibility towards ensuring that Ghanaians who have invested their money do not suffer. Government has no interest in Menzgold but should rather focus on the customers and how to retrieve their monies.
“And so I want government to quarantine the $39 million locked in Dubai when it’s retrieved so it can disburse to the customers,” he stated on Joy News’ AM show.

NAM 1 at a press conference on Monday said the ability of his firm to settle debts owed his customers is among other things dependent on government’s willingness to help the company retrieve some $39 million debt owed him by Royal Horizon.
He also called on the government to unfreeze his account and that of Menzgold to enable him settle debts he owes customers.

But, the Tamale Central MP said he has never believed in the gold firm since its inception.
He said he does not know why the CEO of Menzgold, NAM1 decided to engage in a press conference, a situation he said means he is exposing himself to more trouble.
