Some workers of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) are living in fear and shock following the presence of a fully armed joint Military, National Security operatives and Police team in the school as the tenure of the school’s Governing Council ends.
Information gathered by Adom News suggested that the security personnel were in the school to ensure law and order after a tip-off of attempts by some people to cause chaos.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News, one of the workers alleged that there were attempts by some authorities to retain the Governing Council to support the Vice Chancellor.

“For some time now, UEW has been in the news for the bad reasons but this time around, we do not understand why security operatives should take over the school when the tenure of the Governing Council has ended. The Professor Abekah-led Council was instituted to run the affairs of UEW after a chaotic scene in the school and we expect them to go peacefully if the tenure has ended,” he said.

It is unclear how long the security operatives would be in the school.
