Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, said the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party, Samuel Pyne is happy to serve on the board of Kumasi Abattoir.
Samuel Pyne and Communications director Kwasi Kyei have been appointed to the board of the Kumasi abattoir.
According to sources within the party, Mr. Pyne is not enthused about the appointment since he feels he deserves better.
The appointment comes after foot soldiers of the party agitated over their apparent snub by government since the party won power in the 2016 elections.
The two received their appointment letter through Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, Board chairman of the social security and national insurance trust (SSNIT), which operates the abattoir.
As a member of the abattoir board, he is entitled to a weekly supply of meat and a GHC200 allowance per a sitting.
But Chairman Wontumi as he is affectionately called commenting on his appointment debunked the assertion that Mr Pyne is not enthused about the appointment.
According to him, he has personally consulted Sam Pyne and has showed interest in the job and therefore could not fathom why critics have started throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.
“Sam Pyne is content with his appointment and what Nana Addo has given him. So those talking about it should desist from it. I see his appointment as an honour” he warned.
