Audio: Owusu Bempah ‘backtracks’ on Black Stars prophesy

-

The Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, has denied ever prophesying that the Black Stars were going to lift the African Cup of Nations (AfCON) for the fifth time this year.

He has, therefore, challenged anyone with any form of prove that he made any such predictions to make them available.

“I have heard the news that I have prophesied that the Black Stars would bring the (AfCON) cup home. I have never said that anywhere. If anyone has evidence to prove that they should make it available because it’s not true I have ever made any such prophesy,” he challenged.

Rev Bempah has, however, conceded that he predicted a win for Ghana over Benin, and urged Ghanaians to disregard the rumour of him making any prediction about lifting a trophy.

The Accra-based prophet said he knew there was no way Ghana could win the AFCON because the performance of the Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah was appalling.

“I knew even before Black Stars match that they won’t be able to come home with the cup. Why field Asamoah Gyan in the 80th minute? He doesn’t possess the magic wand to change anything with those minutes,” he indicated in Twi.

He has advised Mr Appiah to up his game if he still wants to coach the Black Stars.

“If Kwesi Appiah really wants to coach Ghana, he should be brave. He acts as though he is being controlled and his hands have been tied to his back. He really needs to do his homework well because his arrangements were poor,” he told Accra-based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

The Black Stars lost 4-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Ghana hasn’t won the AFCON since 1982.
