Audio: 'Ofori-Atta was communicating with his ancestors in Parliament'

-

The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has said Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta did not say anything meaningful in the 2018 budget presentation.
According to him, Mr Ofori-Atta only touted the works of his family both dead and living rather than presenting a budget.
“I think Ken didn’t say anything meaningful in his budget. I knew he will not say anything. He was only interested in telling us about his entire family both the living and the dead rather than presenting a budget. He has nothing to tell us, nothing new” he said on Accra based Okay FM.
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta during the reading said “At the sectoral level, the Industry Sector recovered from a negative growth of 0.5 percent and is expected to grow by 17.7 percent in 2017 due to increased production in upstream oil and gas.”
Mr. Anyidoho, in reacting to that said the minister just gave a total summation of the growth experienced in that sector without detailing how each variant under the sector performed separately.
He indicated that the Finance Minister overgeneralized the facts which according to him should have been taken individually and dissected for the lay man to appreciate.
Koku Anyidoho is certain the Akufo-Addo administration will not deliver as promised.
“What they promised in their earlier budget, we are yet to see that. I don’t think they are coming to say something new. It will be a recap of the old thing with big grammar. The NPP will not bring a relief to Ghanaians,” he said.
