The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah was a major financier of President Akufo-Addo’s campaign into the 2016 election.

The NDC’s National Communications officer, Samuel Gyamfi who revealed this during the party’s Moment of Truth” series at the NDC headquarters in Accra said, Nana Appiah Mensah’s amorous relationship with the President Akufo-Addo is the reason government is treating him with a kid’s gloves.

“Our Sources at Menzgold tells us Nana Appiah Mensah sponsored NPP in opposition with gargantuan money. The government gave NAM1 safe passage out of this country though was under strict investigation” he claimed.

The company has been in the news for failing to pay the investments of its clients. Its CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah who is on the run is said to be in the United Arab Emirates capital, Dubai.

A government delegation has arrived in that country to push for his extradition after a Circuit Court accused him of defrauding by false pretense and allegations of money laundering.

But according to Sammy Gyamfi, President Akufo-Addo has been part of the Menzgold problem hence must be part of the solution.

He also alleged that Nana Appiah Mensah was aided by government to flee the country.

“We knew that NAM 1absconded this country September 2018 so what had Govt done all this while to re-arrest him” he quizzed.
