Audio: NADMO begs for food, relief items for flood victims

The National Disaster Management Organisation says it’s overwhelmed by the increasing number of persons forced out of their homes by floods in Twifo Praso in the Central Region.
NADMO is keeping nearly 2 thousand victims in makeshift structures after the overflow of the Pra River.
Several hectors of farmlands have also been destroyed.
Acting Director of NADMO in the Twifo-Ati Morkwa district, Richmond Addae Marfo said urgent help is needed to save those facing hunger.
He indicated that, most of the affected families are stranded and they need canoes to rescue them.
Mr. Addae Marfo revealed that they need rice, gari and other foodstuff to feed the affected families.
He called on individuals, corporate bodies and non-governmental organizations to complement government’s efforts to save lives.
