Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs says the former President of Ghana, Mr John Mahama has become a scarecrow to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Allotey Jacobs said the former President is strategically running his campaign decorously and set to bring a super competent running mate to match the Vice-President, Dr Bawumia who he described as “super incompetent”.

Mr Allotey said he sees Mr Mahama’s comeback as causing fear within the NPP hence the strategy to attack him unnecessarily for no good reason.
Mr Jacobs who was speaking on Adom TV’s morning show, Badwam Tuesday asked the Veep to hold his breath because Mr Mahama was going to come with a running mate who he described as “super competent” to match his [Bawumia’s] incompetence.
Dr Bawumia had said in a video making the rounds that it will be suicidal for Ghanaians to hand over the administration of the country back to former President, John Dramani Mahama.

Dr Bawumia who was commenting on the former president’s decision to have another shot at the presidency said “I hear the incompetent one says he wants to come back, he wants to come and do more damage, as if he didn’t do enough damage; well we’re waiting for him, we’re waiting for him, we’re waiting for him, oh my God”.
But Mr Allotey Jacobs believes Dr Bawumia is only positioning himself to be the next president, hence his sudden attack on the former president.

This notwithstanding, Allotey Jacobs was certain that former President John Mahama will get 100 percent votes from the Central Region and emerge the presidential candidate for the NDC party.
“John Mahama will get 100 percent votes from my Region and win the primaries and I will support him to win, John Mahama is the best bet for the NDC to recapture political power in 2020”, he opined.
