Audio: Mahama behind calls for his comeback – Adomako Baafi

-

Acting Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi has accused former President Mahama of being behind endorsement by NDC Regional Chairmen.
According to him, John Mahama’s move is solely to avoid embarrassment in the party’s flagbearership race.
“I am still struggling to understand why these chairmen will take such decisions. I think Mahama is behind this move to take our minds off his embarrassment he showed during the 2016 polls or it’s just that his people don’t respect him anymore and then wants to decide for him anyhow” he said on Accra based Neat FM.
Ten Regional Chairmen of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have backed the candidature of John Dramani Mahama for election 2020, even before the latter announces his intention.
The ten Regional Chairmen after a meeting on Thursday, November 9, 2017, with the former President, issued a communiqué in which they urged the former President to consider running for the 2020 polls.
The brief statement did not give further details as to why they were making the call.
They also urged him to embark on a ‘Thank you’ tour of the country, although belated, to thank party loyalists for their support during the December 2016 polls.
But lawyer Adomako Baafi claims the move by the 10 regional Chairmen is just to make Mahama more popular than his rivals in the race.
