AUDIO: Koku’s arrest ‘politically motivated’ – Kofi Adams

National Organiser of the oppositional National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has described the arrest of his Deputy General Secretary as ‘politically motivated’ one.
The embattled Deputy General Secretary of the NDC has been charged with High Treason by the Police over his call for a civil coup against President Akufo-Addo.

Mr. Anyidoho who was arrested Tuesday afternoon is expected to appear before the Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Commenting on the incident, Mr Adams said the use of force by the police during their press conference Tuesday was very worrying.
Mr Adams said there are laws in this country that need to be followed in such matters but it seems these are not being adhered to.

“We have laws in the country but this government is always going the wrong way to get matters resolved which I believe it’s very wrong. The process used in arresting Koku clearly shows that it was politically motivated”, he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Wednesday.
Kofi Adams noted that some irate youth of the NDC who were at the police headquarters were shot by some police officers.

This notwithstanding, he indicated that lawyers are on the case and hopes that Koku will soon be released.
He however hinted that the NDC will not relent on its efforts in protesting against the military deal.
Kofi Adams called on the President to pay attention to its citizens and reject the move.
