Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho says just-nominated Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Adukwei Mensa, will do the bidding of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, circumstances surrounding her appointment are questionable, insisting her appointment has exposed her political colours.
“Since time immemorial, we members of the NDC knew that woman was a full NPP person and her appointment now vindicates us. The circumstances surrounding the removal of the EC chair, and her appointment means anyone the president nominates will be seen as NPP Member.

“Ever since we heard her appointment, I kept asking myself if Jean was jealous of Charlotte Osei when she was the EC chair. Anyway, I want her to know that she has been born in the manager of the NPP and nothing will change that”, he said.
Mr Anyidoho was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen Monday.
The head of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) has been nominated Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
It follows the removal of Mrs Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Mrs Georgina Opoku Amankwaa, for stated misbehaviour.

A statement signed by the Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei Opare named Mr Samuel Tettey and Dr Eric Asare Bossman as Deputy Chairpersons. Ms Adwoa Asuama has also been named as a member of the Commission. She replaces Mrs Pauline Dadzawa who has proceeded on retirement.
But Mr Anyidoho believes Mrs Mensa will rather serve the NPP and not the nation.
According to him, appointing a person who has biases towards the NDC is totally out of place.
