Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu Juaben municipality, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, has denied being on the payroll of the outspoken Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

According to NDC Regional Womens’ Organiser, Gloria Huze, these moles have vowed to work against the party ahead of the 2020 general election.

In a statement copied to Adomonline.com, she named former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin, former MCE for Ejisu-Juaben, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh and an avowed member of the NDC, Appiah Stadium as NDC members in the pocket of Chairman Wontumi.

“We don’t have to believe all that Chairman Wontumi is saying. It is not possible that he takes decisions for the NDC but let’s not underrate him when it comes to politics.

“Personally I can swear heaven and earth that I have not taken any money from Wontumi. His money cannot buy me. Yes, I am not on his payroll but I can’t speak for the others and that is why I am saying we shouldn’t underrate him,” he told Accra based Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

He added that “the responsibility of a working regional chairman is to mount political strategies to cripple his opposition and that is exactly what Wontumi is doing with the NPP in the region,” he said.
