Some bodybuilders known in our local parlance as “machomen” have allegedly beaten five persons at Wassa Nsadwenso in the Western region.
Some of the victims who suffered on the hands of these body builders accused the assembly man for the electoral area, Richard Agyapong, as masterminding the attack.
Narrating their ordeal to Adom News’s Kofi Adjei, the victims said they were mobbed by some macho men at their mining site while working.
According to them, their crime was just to prevent the men from entering their site and taking over their job.
“They always come to our galamsey site to harass us and threaten to take over our work and because they believe they are stronger than us, they mobbed us and pounced on us” one victim said.
They said the macho men who held broken bottles hurled stones at them leaving five people seriously injured.
Kofi Adjei noted that, the most of those attacked by the machomen sustained serious injuries on their faces and other parts of their bodies.
They were rushed to the the Tarkwa Government Hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, Chief of the area Nana Bogya Kwao 1 has banned the assembly man, Richard Agyapong from any town activities for terrorizing residents.
But Richard Agyapong in an interview with Adom News denied the allegation describing it as pure fabrication.
He accused the chief of using similar intimidating tactics he used against two of his predecessors but vowed to face him boot-for-boot.
The matter has been reported to the police to ensure further investigations.
