Audio: I feel sorry for Nana Addo – Lawyer Ampaw

-

A Celebrity lawyer, Dr. Maurice Ampaw says he pity’s President Akufo-Addo following an  attack by the pro-NPP group, Delta Force, at a Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Court.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo assumed office with a lot of goodwill but has lost a lot of that goodwill as a result of the attack as his administration nears the 100-day mark.

“I feel pity for Nana Addo. The actions of Delta Force have really marred Nana Addo’s 100 days administration. Even NDC in opposition is not troubling Nana Addo but his own party members; NPP is always giving him pressure and are not even considering his age.

“Nana Addo would have scored 90 percent without the Delta Force and that’s why I feel pity for him,Accra-based” Accra-based Okay FM on Thursday.

A Kumasi High Court presided by Justice Obiri Yeboah has granted bail to the 13 Delta Force suspects standing trial for criminal charges.

Each of them was to execute a bail bond of GHS10,000.00 with two sureties each to be justified.

They are also to submit photocopies of their valid ID cards and report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service each week.

The 13 are on trial for rioting, assaulting a public officer, and conspiracy to commit crime.

But Lawyer Ampaw is convinced that the actions of these vigilante groups affiliated with the ruling party have been a bane to the president’s quest to rally Ghanaians behind his developmental agenda.

He, however, downplayed suggestions that the National Security Minister, Kan Daapah, should be dismissed over the Delta Force members’ actions.

Ghana, he stressed, had come of age in her democratic dispensation, and appealed to all and sundry to co-exist peacefully in the years ahead, in the spirit of national reconciliation
