Teachers and students of Akumadan Senior High School in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region have expressed fears over rituals performed on their school land.
The PTA Vice Chairman of the school, Kwaku Boateng, in an interview, explained what exactly was seen in the school.

“The security men, during a routine duty operation, saw five men on the school land burying a live goat and pig after which they poured a libation with schnapps but the case has been reported to the chief of Akumadan who disclosed he knows the people responsible for that,” Mr Boateng said in the interview.
The chief of Akumadan Nana Akuamoah Boateng II has confirmed the incident.

“It is true some persons have gone there to perform some rituals in the school land but it has nothing to do with the school; rather, it’s an individual thing that took place,” Nana Akuamoah Boateng explained.
Akuamoah Boateng added that the case has been reported to the District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) of Offinso North District.
The suspects, he said, are currently in the grips of the police, assisting investigations.

However, the DCE for Ofinso North District Boakye Asare has spoken with the school authorities and they have agreed to go back to school.
The DCE has, therefore, called on the PTA to calm down for the issue to be resolved amicably.
