According to Senegal, the phenomenon of resorting to juju as a way of enhancing the performances of footballers was prevalent even in his days as a footballer.

He has, however, condemned the practice, noting that if juju was that efficacious, footballers wouldn’t have to train daily to be at competitive levels.
“If juju was that relevant and dependable, why won’t one just sleep, wake up and depend on juju for good performances or goals,” he asked.

Armah Senegal who was speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show has confessed to using juju in a match somewhere in 1993 but faced a psychological burden afterwards because he had sleepless nights for days.
“My brother, juju in football is not a joke, it’s real and even if you don’t go for it, someone will approach you and offer to do it for you but you need that strong will to be able to resist if you don’t want it. I was prayerful and sometimes had to fast,” he revealed.
