Outspoken member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Coffie has descended heavily on former President John Mahama over his boot-for-boot comment.
Mr. Mahama had warned the NDC would face the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) boot-for- boot in election 2020 should the attacks on its members continue.

“…the NDC has revolutionary roots and that when it comes to unleashing violence, nobody can beat us in unleashing violence,” Mahama said.
He has come under criticism for the comment with some including the National Peace Council Chairman Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante.

Dela Coffie on Asempa FM’s political discussion programme Ekosii Sen programme Monday joined the bandwagon.
He described Mr. Mahama’s boot-for-boot comment following the disturbances in the Ayawaso West Wougon by-election as “irresponsible and a call to violence”.
“Why will Maham condemn President Akufo-Addo’s infamous ‘All-die-be-die’ and turnaround to say even worse things?” the NDC man quizzed.

Dela Coffie said such misguided comment is unbecoming of a former President deemed as a statesman.
