Dr Naa Adjeley Sakyi, Gender Consultant and Facilitator of Trainer of Trainers programme for the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Curriculum, has allayed the fears of parents who are apprehensive about the introduction of the CSE in public schools.
Dr Sakyi maintained that the programme is to equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to realise their health, well-being and dignity, and develop respectful social and sexual relationships.

Some civil society organisations have raised concerns about the CSE and maintain that it is a subtle way of introducing homosexuality to Ghana.
Lead campaigner, law lecturer and fierce critic of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) movement, Moses Foh-Amoaning said the curriculum for the CSE programme promotes the LGBT agenda.
This has generated lots of controversies with parents and religious leaders threatening to lead a massive demonstration if the government okays it.
But, setting the records straight on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Monday, Dr Sakyi said the curriculum for CSE does not promote LGBT agenda.
She said the materials circulating on social media are fake just to attract bad press for the Ghana Education Service.

Dr Sakyi, who is also a gender consultant and a facilitator, said the subject content would however be age-appropriate, so the toddlers would be empowered with values that would protect them from sexual harassment.
