AUDIO: Bagbin drops secret behind his long stay in Parliament

One of the presidential aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alban Bagbin has revealed the secrets behind his long stay in Parliament.

Describing his leadership style as that of Napoleon, Mr. Bagbin said he has embarked on developmental project for his constituents and he believes that was what has kept him in the August House.

He said in his wisdom and humility, he believed he has developed the constituency till date.

According to the Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo constituency in the Upper West Region, he worked hard to improve the lives of his constituents through education, health and others.

“I don’t regret serving my people. I can assure you that I have done more than Napoleon could do. My people have I have done more than Napoleon could do. My people are still keeping me for so many years because I have done so much for them.

“I have built two hospitals in my constituency and two other clinics adding that “most of the times I use my personal resources to support my people and I see that as a great thing opening doors for me. I have indeed set the record and willing to do more” he said.

Mr. Bagbin was speaking exclusively on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Thursday.

Alban Bagbin, born on 24 September 1957, hails from the Upper West Region of Ghana. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and English at the University of Ghana in 1980.

He is the only person who currently holds the record as having served both as the Minority Leader, during the Fourth Parliament, and the Majority Leader, during the Fifth Parliament.

In 2008, Bagbin announced intentions to run for president on the NDC ticket, but he never stood for the primaries.
