Member of Parliament for the Pru East Constituency, Dr. Kwabena Donkor is calling on the police administration to involve military personnel in its daily patrolling on the Kumasi-Yeji-Atebubu highways to combat armed robbery activities affecting his constituents.
According to him, highway robbers have being terrorizing traders and market women on the road.
A situation he describes as very worrying and thus, affecting business activities in the area.
Speaking with Adom News after delivering a statement on the floor of Parliament on the activities of highway robbers, Dr. Kwabena Donkor said the government must intervene because residents are living in fear.
Dr. Kwabena Donkor disclosed that, over the last few days several attacks have occurred and several millions of the old Ghana cedis have been stolen.
He says an increase in the patrols will reduce or even stop these attacks.

Meanwhile, speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye asked the Clerk’s office to inform the Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry on the incident for necessary action.
