Joshua Akamba, National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has described as “stupid” the claim that the party has no campaign message for the 2020 general election.
He could not fathom why any discerning Ghanaian will ask a party which was in power four years ago of its message when all its achievements are very visible for all to see.

“It’s stupid for anyone to ask of our campaign message. Mahama did a lot of projects when in power so which other message are they asking for?” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday.
The opposition party, seeking to return to power, has been mocked by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for not having any campaign message ahead of the December general election.

The issue became murkier when the NDC appealed to Ghanaians to rather help them with ideas as they put together their manifesto.
This move, the NPP maintained, was enough attestation that the NDC is not a better alternative to them.
In a riposte, Mr Akamba on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday said the elections will not be won on campaign messages.

Rather, he explained that, it will be based on the track record of former President John Mahama and President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The NDC National Organiser said the party had resolved to leave the formulation of the campaign message to the flagbearer, Mr Mahama and concentrate on mobilising the grassroots to win power.
Mr Akamba is confident of a one-touch victory in the elections to rescue Ghanaians from the “thievery and corruption under the Akufo-Addo government.”
