The Head of Afrikania Mission in Ghana, His Holiness Atsu Kove, has descended heavily on religious bodies, especially the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, (GCBC) following the planned introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) policy to Ghanaian public schools.
To his Holiness Kove, Christian churches in Ghana should be blamed for the decline of African Religion and cultural practices because they have done little to instill cultural values in Ghanaian schools.
He said the churches have no moral authority to talk about culture because they have helped the foreigners to destroy Ghana’s culture.

“Some of these things we hear about sexuality education is not part of us. Our religious bodies are the cause of our woes and you are now complaining when these foreigners want to introduce sexuality to our schools. They should be blamed for what we are witnessing now because you have accepted their culture in our country already,” he told Accra based Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
The President of the GCBC, Most Rev. Philip Naameh, has called on well-meaning Ghanaians to reject the introduction of the CSE in Ghanaian public schools.

The Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Tamale, speaking on Kumasi based radio station, Fox FM said “the Minister of Education called heads of churches to a meeting and said that some western non-governmental organisations are bringing all kinds of things to Ghana, but he (Minister of Education) and the government are not ready for that.”
So to him (Most Rev. Naameh), “it is big surprise that, ‘they want to put this in the syllabus, and start teaching five-year-olds about sex’.”
But, His Holiness Kove, whose Mission is fully against the introduction of the new curriculum, says leaders will be cursed by forefathers if they go ahead with the implementation.

“If our leaders go ahead to implement this subject, trust me, we will answer to our maker and our forefathers will deal and curse us if we go ahead with the plan. We need to get up and rise up against the move. We members of Afrikania Mission will hold a press conference and protest against the move,” he said.
