Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 11th December, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African University College of Communications (AUCC) at the Council Chamber, North Campus, Winneba.
This was to formalise agreement between the aforementioned institutions with regards to affiliation of programmes.
AUCC is affiliating itself with UEW’s Master of Arts in Journalism. The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni expressed delight to have AUCC on board.
He said that UEW would take the collaboration seriously and ensure that they built on each other’s strengths.
“We happen to have started earlier than you and so are in a situation where we are an autonomous University but I think our autonomy would be shown in how effectively we supported other people to become like us and even bigger” he said.
The representatives of the visiting institution raised hopes of having a fruitful partnership with UEW.
“Having come all the way from Accra, we are hoping that just as you said, this relationship will go further than we expected. We didn’t choose UEW for nothing; we knew what we were bargaining for.”
AUCC was represented by the President, Prof. Margaret Crabbe and the Director of Finance, Mr. Paul Fabalona sign the MoU.
Among the UEW officials present were the Director, Quality Assurance, Prof. Yaw Ameyaw; Deputy Registrar, Division of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Christie Okae-Anti; Senior Assistant Registrar, School of Graduate Studies, Mr. Kenneth Abban and Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Emmanuel A. Birikorang.
