The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Patrick Banor has cut sod the construction of a headmistress bungalow at Ola Girls Senior High School in Kenyasi No. 2.
This initiative aims to address the long-standing accommodation challenges faced by the school’s headmistress.
Representing the MP at the sod-cutting ceremony, District Chief Executive (DCE) Anthony Mensah said the school management had brought to their attention the pressing need for a residential facility for the headmistress.
In response, Banor decided to support the school with a three-bedroom self-contained bungalow.
DCE Mensah emphasized the importance of adhering to the project’s six-month completion timeline, urging the contractor to ensure timely delivery to alleviate the stress experienced by the headmistress and the school community.
The headmistress of Ola Girls SHS, Reverend Sister Antoinette Abiwu, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for his gesture.
She highlighted the numerous challenges she and the school have faced due to the lack of suitable accommodation, including relying on hotels to host staff of Ghana Education Service (GES).
The new bungalow is expected to significantly improve her ability to perform her duties effectively and bring dignity to the school.
