Christian leaders in the Ashanti Region gathered in Kumasi on Friday, November 29, 2024, to offer prayers for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 general elections.

Over 200 Christian leaders from all 47 constituencies in the region came together to seek divine guidance and blessings for Dr. Prempeh, NPP’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the upcoming elections.

The prayers focused on peace, stability, and divine favor for Dr. Prempeh, with the clergy emphasizing the need for a peaceful election process.

They prayed for God’s guidance over the country, asking for strength and wisdom for the nation’s leaders.

In his response, Dr. Prempeh thanked the clergy for their support and assured them of the NPP’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships between the government and religious communities.

He also reaffirmed Dr. Bawumia’s vision of inclusive governance and collaboration upon election.

The intercessory prayers were led by Apostle Sampson Adjei Berko of Glory & Hope Ministries International, who stressed the importance of divine intervention in ensuring a successful election and the nation’s overall well-being.

The event highlighted the critical role religious leaders play in guiding the political process, promoting unity, and offering spiritual direction for the nation.
