The Ashanti NPP Parliamentary Caucus has dismissed allegations regarding the Ashanti Regional Caucus election, calling them misleading and baseless.
In a press release signed by Secretary Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the caucus emphasized that the election was fair, transparent, and free of any external influence or favoritism.
“The election adhered strictly to democratic principles, ensuring fairness, transparency, and independence. There was no external influence, coercion, or favoritism,” the statement clarified.
The caucus also refuted claims that Nana Ayew Afriyie secured only eight votes, calling the reports factually inaccurate and aimed at misleading the public.
Furthermore, they confirmed that Nana Ayew Afriyie did not contest the election, as he had previously communicated his decision not to run for any leadership position.
The caucus reiterated its commitment to democracy and unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging the public to ignore false reports designed to create unnecessary controversy.
