The Asanteman Youth for Culture and Development has strongly addressed recent attacks and perceived disrespect towards the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following comments made during a television discussion.
In their statement, the group expressed deep frustration over the remarks, emphasizing that they would not tolerate any form of disrespect directed at their leader.
They called for restraint, asserting that their intention is not to start any unnecessary conflict, but rather to protect the dignity and legacy of the Asantehene and the Asanteman.
The youth group noted that other traditional leaders and sub chiefs refrain from making such disrespectful statements, and urge ordinary Ghanaians to do same.
They pronounced that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is not just a leader but someone whom they believe God has ordained as the best traditional ruler in Ghana.
They also pointed out the Asantehene’s focus on development and his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of his people.
Therefore, the Asanteman Youth issued a strong warning to anyone speaking ill of the Asantehene, cautioning that such behavior would not be tolerated.
They referred to these critics as “deficient in their brains” and urged them to refrain from making negative comments about their revered leader.
