Young Apostles President, Samuel Anim Addo, believes Asante Kotoko was fortunate to avoid defeat in their Sunday clash against his team.
The Premier League newcomers faced Kotoko at the Len Clay Stadium for a Matchday 3 fixture. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams putting on a competitive display.
After a goalless first half, Young Apostles took the lead in the 51st minute thanks to a goal from Daniel Lomotey.
However, Kotoko’s Emmanuel Antwi levelled the score in the 79th minute with a brilliant strike to earn a point for the club.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Anim Addo, the former member of the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council, expressed his disappointment at not securing all three points. He insisted Kotoko were fortunate to escape with a draw.
“Asante Kotoko were lucky to avoid defeat and must be thankful to their God,” he remarked.
In the Matchday four fixtures, Asante Kotoko will take on Berekum Chelsea in Matchday 4, while Young Apostles face Aduana Stars, who recently suffered a home defeat to Nations FC.
