Asante Kotoko to appoint Assistant Technical Director

-

The Head of Sporting Affairs for Asante Kotoko, Kwesi Appiah, has confirmed that the club will soon appoint an Assistant Technical Director to strengthen their technical team.

Appiah, who recently stepped down as the technical director of the Porcupine Warriors, expressed confidence in the club’s new structure.

The club has named Malik Jabir, a club legend and former coach, as the new technical director.

Speaking on the decision, Kwesi Appiah, who is also a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council, commended Jabir’s readiness for the role.

He also highlighted the importance of naming an assistant technical director.

“He [Malik Jabir] is a former player and he is willing to do that work. He is willing to travel with the team and for the games that he cannot travel with the team, his assistant will join the team and assist Prosper Nartey Ogum,” he told Asempa FM.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was previously part of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), has now shifted his focus entirely to his duties as the head coach of the team.

Asante Kotoko is gearing up for a crucial clash against their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the Matchday 13 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.

The game is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT.
