Asante Kotoko has secured the services of Joseph Ablorh after completing his medical examination.

The Ghanaian centre-back joins from Hafia FC in Guinea and has inked a two-year contract with the club.

Ablorh, 26, was officially introduced by Asante Kotoko on Wednesday, July 17, just ahead of their eagerly awaited encounter against rivals Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup.

“Joseph Ablorh stood out at Hafia FC, known for his robust tackling, aerial dominance, and leadership qualities. His exceptional performances during the 2020/2021 Guinean top-flight season earned him a spot in the Team of the Season, highlighting his reliability and impact on the field. Returning home, Ablorh is determined to make a significant contribution to Asante Kotoko,” the club stated in an official release.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, lauding Ablorh’s combination of experience and athleticism.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joseph to Asante Kotoko. At 26, he brings a blend of experience and athleticism that will strengthen our defensive line. His skills and leadership will be pivotal as we strive to elevate our team and achieve our goals” he stated.

The Porcupine Warriors remain active in the transfer market following the departure of over 20 players after a disappointing sixth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season.
