An altercation occurred Sunday afternoon at Nana Konamansah Park during the Matchday 19 encounter between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko.
In a viral video, Kotoko’s goalkeeper Mohammed Camara was seen punching two Nsoatreman players on the sidelines.
This led to a brawl as Kotoko’s captain, Justice Blay, joined in and engaged multiple Nsoatreman players, as home fans threw objects at the visiting team.
The cause of the altercation, which occurred in the second half and caused a significant delay in the match, remains unclear.
After calm was restored, the referee issued red cards to both Blay and Camara, leaving Kotoko with only nine players to continue the game.
The players involved and both teams must face severe sanction.

Asante Kotoko’s official account on X later reported that their media team had suffered losses, including a damaged laptop and camera, due to the attack by Nsoatreman supporters.
The club also confirmed the tragic death of a fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley, a member of Kotoko’s Supporters’ Communication Team, who was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants.
Despite the chaos, Asante Kotoko lost the match 1-0, bringing an end to their seven-game unbeaten streak.
