Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is urging the club’s supporters to come out in full force this weekend as the team prepares to face Bechem United in a crucial Matchday 27 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors are eager to bounce back after dropping points to Heart of Lions in their previous match. Ogum highlighted the importance of fan support and shared insights into the team’s mindset ahead of the encounter.
“I will tell them to still rally behind us. It wasn’t an issue travelling nine hours to this place. I remember when we went into the dressing room, and in the first half, we were coming back. Samba came to me and said the players are complaining that they are tired because of the long journey,” Ogum told Peace FM.
With Kotoko returning to their home ground, Ogum believes the presence of their fans could be a motivating factor.
“So I want to tell them that we are coming home, so they should come in their numbers and support us, and that will serve as some sort of motivation for us,” he added. “It will give us some energy to be able to deliver. We are going to play at Baba Yara, which is our home ground, so they should come in their numbers, and we will be ready to deliver.”
The clash against Samuel Boadu’s Bechem United is scheduled for Sunday, with kickoff at 15:00 GMT.
