Asante Kotoko have secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sekondi Eleven Wise.
The Porcupine Warriors hosted the lower-tier side at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday afternoon for their Round of 16 clash.
Despite dominating possession, Kotoko struggled to capitalize on their chances in the first half. Their closest opportunity came midway through the half when Saaka Dauda connected with a cross from Michael Sefah, but his header went off target.
Kotoko eventually broke the deadlock when Kyei Baffour pounced on a low cross from Patrick Asiedu to slot home the decisive goal.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Kotoko creating several chances but failing to extend their lead. However, their solitary goal proved enough to secure the victory.
Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side will now face Division One club True Democracy in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
