Kumasi Asante Kotoko has confirmed goalkeeper, Frederick Asare as the new club captain ahead of the new football campaign.
Asare takes over the captainship role from Ibrahim Danlad who has left the club following the expiration of his contract.
He will be deputized by midfielder Justice Blay according to the club.
A statement by the club read, “Goalkeeper Frederick Asare has been voted as the new skipper of the club, he will be assisted by Justice Blay who came second in the voting exercise. Congratulations @Fred_Asare33 @JusticeBlay_.”

Meanwhile, Frederick Asare has been named in Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger next week.
Asante Kotoko are preparing for the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. The team is currently in Cape Coast wrapping up their pre-season for the upcoming season.
Having finished 6th with 49 points last season, the Porcupine Warriors are bent on challenging for the Premier League title having bolstered their squad with some impressive football talents.
Asante Kotoko will begin their campaign with an away game against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
