Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Juaso Government Hospital organized a blood donation exercise over the weekend.
200 pints of blood were donated at the event held at the Juaso post office to augment the stock at the hospital’s blood bank.

Municipal Chief Executive, Alexander Frimpong said health is one of the key mandates of the Assembly and would ensure that Ghanaians are educated to offer themselves to donate blood to save lives.
He added that, the objective of the exercise is to save the lives of pregnant women during delivery.
Mr. Frimpong said they partnered the hospital to carry out its social responsibility of providing services to the people.

Also, Mr. Ruben Osei-Antwi of the Juaso hospital urged the assembly to organize the exercise more often to enable residents donate more blood to help save lives.
Meanwhile the Chief of Juaso, Nana Asafoakaa Agyei Tabi was elated at the initiative by the Assembly.
