Chief of the Asante Akyem Zongo community in the Ashanti region, Abdul Rahim Sulemana has rendered an apology to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Francis Oti Boateng for the rejection of his donation by the youth over unfulfilled promises on Saturday.
According to the Zongo Community Chief, he felt embarrassed after the youth rejected the donations from the DCE, Francis Oti Boateng and the Member of Parliament (MP), Andy Appiah Kubi and thought it would be wise for him to apologise.
“I didn’t want the DCE and MP to accuse me of being the one responsible for the action of the youth though the youth were right they have not fulfilled their promises, but as a father of the community, I couldn’t sit for my children to misbehave this way,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Chief Sulemana said he believed the problem could have been solved amicably and not the strategy adopted by the youth.
“The youth have threatened to deal with me but I believe the apology was the right thing to do. They stormed my house this morning in red attire and arranged tyres in front of my house; they have also threatened to deal with me but I am happy I did the right thing,” he stated.
