The Municipal Chief Executive for Asante Akim South in the Ashanti Region, Alexander Frimpong has appealed to the residents of Juaso and its environs to honour their tax obligations to enable government undertake more infrastructure development.
He made this appeal during a town hall meeting organized by the ministry of information in collaboration with the Asante Akim south municipal Assembly at Juaso , the municipal capital as a means of bringing accountability and governance to the door-step of the people.
The meeting also aimed at presenting government policies and programmes at both national and district levels and to give the constituents the opportunity to make meaningful contributions on issues of development as a means of strengthening democracy and decentralization in the area.
The MCE in his key note address, touched on some government policies and programmes which include, sanitation, health, One District- One Factory, Free education, revenue mobilization, Nabco, restored of teacher trainee and nurses allowance, Leap and among others.
He said, there are more of such developments in the pipeline and will soon rolled out.
The member of parliament for Asante Akim South Constituency Lawyer Asante Boateng, also used the opportunity to Highlight on series of projects undertaken in the area which includes Reshaping of feeder roads, construction of class room block, chps compound, construction of footbridges, donations of cement and roofing sheet to some communities, financial support to brilliant students but needy and others.
Meanwhile the Paramount Chief of Gyadam who was the chairperson for the occasion, Nana Ayim Kum Nipa ll, also urge his people to complement government efforts by contributing their quota to development.
