Headmaster of Asankyem D /A Basic School in the Asante Akyem North District in the Eastern Region Emmanuel Frimpong is appealing to the government to come to their aid over the many challenges the school is facing due to the lack of basic amenities in the school.
According to Mr. Frimpong, the school rely on a wooden structure for teaching and learning; have no toilet facility, text books and a very bad road leading to the school which deters parents to allow their wards to attend the school.
On a visit by Adom News’ reporter Isaac Amoako to the school, he recorded lots of cracks on the building which is not helping the student.

A teacher Regina Hornu in an interview with Adom News mentioned some challenges the teachers are also faced with.
“Our school quarters have been taken over by bats and no source of light in the night for us to use in the preparation of our lesson notes.”
However, the Assemblyman for the Hwidem Electoral area Ernest Frimpong assured Adom News the Assembly is taking steps to get the needed facilities for the Asankyem D/A Basic also called on government for more support towards the project.
