Afrobeats star Asake has broken his silence following a viral video of a man, Fatai Odunsi, claiming to be his biological father and publicly appealing for financial assistance while battling a stroke.
The video, which showed Odunsi in a weakened state as he pleaded for help, quickly sparked debates on social media. Many questioned Asake’s relationship with Odunsi and speculated whether the singer had neglected his supposed father.
In response, Asake addressed the situation indirectly through a TikTok video.
The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker shared a heartfelt song, emphasizing the futility of trying to please everyone and encouraging people to focus on doing things for God rather than seeking external approval.
Asake also hinted at his efforts to support his father despite the claims of neglect, revealing that he had already sent a substantial amount of money.
“You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But whatever you do, just do it for God,” Asake said in the video.
While the singer did not directly confirm or deny Odunsi’s claims, his response has intensified discussions about family responsibilities, public scrutiny, and the pressures of fame.
