Arsenal striker Kai Havertz will reportedly miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn hamstring while at the team’s training camp in Dubai.
The Athletic is among the outlets reporting the news ahead of the Gunners’ trip to face Leicester at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Germany international has been a crucial part of Arsenal’s attack so far this season, scoring 15 goals and registering five assists across all competitions.
His most recent goal came in Arsenal’s 5-1 demolition of defending champions Manchester City at The Emirates earlier this month.
The injury is a bitter blow for the north London club’s title hopes, with their other star striker Gabriel Jesus also currently injured.
The Brazil international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee during Arsenal’s defeat against Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup.
Arsenal also look light out wide after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
England international Saka has missed his side’s last seven Premier League fixtures after picking up a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace in December.
Jesus’ compatriot Martinelli looks set to be out for the foreseeable future with a hamstring injury he suffered during the Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle.
The Gunners are currently second in the Premier League table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
They are still competing on two fronts after qualifying automatically for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
