Arsenal to consider selling Thomas Partey this summer

-

Arsenal is reportedly considering the sale of Thomas Partey this summer, according to Times Sports.

The future of the Ghana midfielder at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain, primarily due to his ongoing injury problems.

Partey, 31, made just 16 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners last season and with only a year left on his contract, Arsenal is open to selling him to make room for Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.

The club is expected to pay £29.8 million for the Spanish midfielder as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad.

Last summer, Partey was linked with a potential move away from Arsenal, with interest from Juventus and several Saudi Pro League clubs. However, no deal came to fruition.

Despite the rumours, Partey featured in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Wolves in their Premier League opener at the Emirates Stadium, where Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka found the back of the net in each half.

Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid on October 5, 2020, in a £45 million deal, Partey has made 115 appearances and scored five goals for the North London club.
