Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said the club will address Thomas Partey’s contract situation at the appropriate time, as the Ghanaian midfielder continues to impress this season.
Partey, 31, is in the final year of his five-year contract, which he signed in 2020. His exceptional performances in the ongoing campaign have sparked speculation about a potential extension.
Arteta has praised Partey’s improved fitness and consistent contributions, hinting that the club may look to secure his services beyond this season.
”We will have the right time to discuss this situation,” the Spanish gaffer said of the future of the Ghana international enforcer in a pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with West Ham United.
”He’s showing consistency at the highest level, again because his availability and the way he feels physically is allowing him to do that, and I’m pleased with that,” he added.
Partey has been a key player for the Gunners this season, featuring in 12 Premier League matches and scoring twice in the 2024/25 campaign. His form and fitness could make him a vital asset for Arsenal as they push for success domestically and in Europe.
