Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised the contributions of Thomas Partey in the current season.
Since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020 on a five-year deal, the Ghana midfielder has encountered injury challenges but has still managed to make 12 appearances this season, scoring once.
Ahead of Saturday’s match against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, Arteta highlighted Partey’s influence on the team this season.
The Spanish coach also recognized the midfielder’s ability to excel in various positions on the pitch.
“The one thing that we needed was for Thomas to be at the level we wanted, certainly,” he told the club website on Friday.
“He’s working so hard to do what he’s doing at the moment, and I think he’s playing really well in different positions with different demands, and he’s coping with it in a great way. He’s a big player for us,” he added.
As the Gunners prepare for their early kick-off against the Magpies, Partey will be eager to maintain his spot in the lineup.
