Appointments made after December 7 will be reviewed – Suhuyini

-

Tamale North MP and member of the subcommittee on the Transition Team, Alhassan Suhuyini, has announced that all appointments made after the December 7 elections will be subject to review and possible reversal by the incoming government after it assumes office on January 7.

Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, Mr. Suhuyini urged the outgoing administration to refrain from making rushed appointments or promotions during the transition period.

“I caution those benefiting from such actions not to allow the outgoing authorities to jeopardize their genuine cases for promotion. You may have a valid claim for promotion, but these actions could complicate matters under the new government. Any irregular promotions or appointments made during this transition period will be reviewed and could potentially be reversed.”

His comments follow the inauguration of the Transitional Team in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845).

The initial meeting, held on Wednesday, December 11, at the Jubilee House in Accra, marked the beginning of an organized and peaceful transfer of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The National Transition Team, established by constitutional mandate, will oversee the handover process and ensure a smooth transition of power.

The 2024 Transition Team will work closely with representatives of the outgoing administration to facilitate an orderly and efficient transfer of responsibilities.
