On January 9, 2025, the John Mahama administration officially announced the first group of ministers for Finance, Energy and Attorney General.
Ajumako Enyan Essiam MP and Majority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has been appointed to the Finance Ministry, Yapei Kusawgu MP; John Jinapor for Energy and Bolgatanga East MP; Dr Dominic Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to President John Mahama, issued a statement highlighting the practical experience and expertise of the appointees.
The statement said with their extensive background, they are expected to play crucial roles in transforming the various sectors.
The appointment is the first set of President Mahama’s nomination following his inauguration on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, the first meeting of the first session of the Ninth Parliament has been suspended until Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to the vetting.
The suspension period will also be used to organize a four-day orientation workshop for new legislators to familiarize themselves with the rudiments and procedures of the House.
