Techiman City FC President, Charles Kwadwo Ntim, says it’s unfair for the Normalization Committee to apologise to the premier league clubs based on the instruction by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture.
The Parliamentary Select Committee on sports and culture has asked the members of CAF/FIFA Normalization Committee (NC) to apologise to the Premier League clubs for using words such as selfishness, greed and braggadocio to announce the cancellation of the Special Competition.
But Mickey Charles has a problem with the wording of the Select Committee’s directive saying the football statutes refer to all football teams in Ghana as clubs so the directive by the Committee shows they are giving only the premier league clubs a preferential treatment.
“I don’t understand why they [Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture] asked the Normalization Committee to apologize to the premier league clubs. This means they have selected only the premier league clubs and giving them preferential treatment,” he told Asempa Sports.
“The statement by the normalization committee following the cancellation of the special tournament affects us all including Division One, Premier and Women football so it is not appropriate when you say the committee should apologise to only the premier league clubs,” he added.
The Normalization Committee and Premier League clubs are deadlocked on issues relating to the organization of a Special Competition intended to keep the clubs active.
