The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council has given the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) three days ultimatum to give a public apology to the Okyenhene, compel the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Kwame Zu, to render a personal apology to the Okyenhene and also pacify the Okyenhene and Okyeman for his unsavory comment during a protest in Kumasi.
The chiefs also want an invocation of appropriate disciplinary action against Mr Zu by the leadership of the NDC.
The Traditional Council says if the NDC fails to heed to the demands of the chiefs, they will not accord the NDC any future request for clemency and redemption of their customary transgressions.

The chiefs further decided that, any chief who violates the orders once passed would have acted in aberration of his oral and written oath and will in consequence suffer destoolment.
The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC made a political statement during a protest in Kumasi against the Okyenhene and Okyeman to the effect that, but for the NDC, Okyenhene was drinking water from the same source with animals.
The comment of the NDC scribe has incurred the wrath of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council leading to a protest and press conference on Monday morning at Kyebi.
