Orphans and abandoned children in the northern part of Ghana will benefit from the expansion of Apam Orphanage to the Northern Region.
The new home will be located on Iris Street at Choo Kukuo in the Tamale District.
Apam Orphanage commenced with four children in 2014 from the Sandema community and now houses over one hundred and twenty inmates and about sixty foster children at Pokuasi in the Ga West district of Accra.
The inmates comprise street children, orphans, missing children, and more, with students at Accra Technical Training Centre, Accra Technical University, Kumasi Technical University, and the University of Development Studies Tamale.
The new orphanage has a 9-unit classroom block for learning because the vision is to provide quality education for everyone.
Founder of the Apam Orphanage, Evangelist Papa Nii Adjeman, says he was inspired to create such a center out of his personal story of how he lost his mother, became homeless, and survived life at transport stations and prayer camps on mountains.
He said during his most difficult times, he made an assurance to God that if he survived, he would love to build a house of worship for God and a safe haven for orphans.
“I now see my dreams manifesting after about 30 years of encountering God from the street,” he said.
Evangelist Papa Nii Adjeman is hoping to get some support from benevolent givers to expand his initiatives to every deprived district in the country and even to other African countries.
