Some angry youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tamale Central constituency of the Northern Region have seized their constituency chairman’s pick-up vehicle.
The coalition of youth groups, including ward executives, have deflated the tyre of the pickup vehicle and are in possession of it.
Public Relations Officer of the group, Shira Majeed, who confirmed the incident to Joy News said the executive promised them while in opposition that if they worked hard, and the party won the election they would be rewarded with jobs and development but three years after the party won they are yet to see any of the things they promised.

He said the party executives abandoned them and never stepped foot into the area since they came into power only to appear in another election year.
Mr Majeed said they have taken them for granted and only remember them when it is election year therefore their actions.
He said they are tired of being used by people for their personal gains.
When Joy News contacted the Tamale Central NPP chairman he admitted the vehicle is in possession of the youth.

According to the party chairman Mohammed Ibrahim, the constituency had programmed to engage the various youth groups in the constituency because of agitation among the youth groups.
He said accusations were leveled against the executives of having seized contracts meant for the boys which were not true and so there was the need to engage with the boys on some of the issues.
Alhaji Mohammed said, the zogbleli group was the eighth group they were meeting last night to engage them, resolve their differences and work towards whipping interest in the proposed upcoming new voter register.
He said, when the meeting begun tempers started flaring adding that he suddenly heard a loud noise and when he asked what was happening he was told the boys had started loosening his vehicle tyres.
He said he did not react because they were angry but the angry youth went ahead to beat his deputy nasara coordinator.
Alhaji Mohammed said, he has decided not to press charges because it is a party matter.
He said tempers are currently high and therefore would wait for some time and they will resolve the matter amicably at the party level.
