Angry electorates on the morning of Sunday, December 8, 2024, destroyed machines at the Okaikwei Central collation centre, Ghana Communication Technology University(GCTU).

Joy News’ Lois Shola Adeyemi who was at the centre reported the incident was triggered by the outcome of the parliamentary election results.

National Democratic Congress(NDC) supporters were reportedly not happy that the incumbent MP and New Patriotic Party(NPP) candidate, Patrick Boamah had taken an early lead.

It resulted in a chaotic scene leading to the injury of some people as scores ran for their lives.

The Police present had to call for reinforcement to calm the situation but a projector, desktop computer among other devices were vandalised upon their arrival.

They however managed to maintain calm though no arrest has been made yet.
